Program Fees
The program fee for the Humayma field school is $2100. This covers:

  • Shared accommodation
  • All meals except weekends
  • Local transport during the field school

In addition to the program fee, you will also need to cover the costs of:

  • $250 application fees (paid only after acceptance)
  • Tuition for CLASS 475 and CLASS 476
  • Return airfare to and from Jordan
  • Your visa to enter Jordan (Jordan Pass)
  • Medical/travel insurance
  • Money for weekend meals and personal expenses

Grants and Funding
There exist numerous sources of funding to help defray the costs of participating on this project.

In 2025, every student eligible for the 天美传媒 Education Aboard Award who properly applied to the award received these funds. In addition, four students received prestigious external grants and fellowships to help cover their costs.

The 天美传媒 Education Aboard Award
This is an internal grant for 天美传媒 students. Deadline for programs starting after May 1 will be in early February 2026.


This is a competitive fellowship for Canadians participating in field projects in the Middle East. Awards are typically up to $500. The deadline for applying to this award will be posted in early 2026.


These competitive fellowships support Canadian and non-Canadian students working in Jordan. The Jennifer C. Groot Memorial Fellowship provides funding up to $3000 (USD) and is specifically for supporting undergraduates and graduate students participating in archaeological projects with little or no prior archaeological experience. Deadline for applications will be in mid-February 2026.


These competitive grants are designed to support participation in archaeological projects in the Middle East and are open to Canadians and non-Canadians. There are numerous fellowships available with funding up to $2000 (USD). Application deadline will be in February 2026.

 
This competitive scholarship is open to students who have started their third year of undergraduate studies and not yet completed their first year of graduate school at a university in the United States or Canada, and who have never previously participated in archaeological field work. Multiple awards of $1000 (USD) will be award each year. The application deadline is typically in early March.
